College football is here

College football has officially started and it's a pretty big deal in our house, at least with daddy.  Yesterday was the first game and it was a home game.  That means Chris is off to College Station with the guys and mommy is home with the kids.  He's had season tickets for years but over the past couple years they have gotten into tailgating.  That's fine but do they really need to leave at 6:00 a.m. for a 6:00 p.m. game?  Wow, this is going to be a long season if that's the case!  Actually, I don't care that he goes, he has fun and can relax and more importantly mommy is going on a LONG weekend trip with her BFF (she was lucky enough to marry a great guy who also has season tickets but to Tech) once the football season is over.  Today I've heard Chris say many times,"It's going to be a long season."  He's saying it for different reasons than I did....because they lost and don't look good.  O-well, at least he has fun tailgating!  While I was home with the kids I decided to dress them appropriately for the opening season game.

Ella & Bennett

I had planned on watching a movie tonight while Chris is in Atlanta but somehow I got sidetracked and uploaded pictures and then since I was here figured I'd better update the blog.  I am a part time single mommy since Chris has been traveling almost every week.  It was hard at first but it's getting easier.  I had both kids asleep by 7:45 tonight!  I think Bennett is transitioning to an earlier bedtime but it's hard when I'm by myself to get Ella in the bath and feed Bennett all at the same time.  Thankfully, they cooperated with each other's schedules tonight and I can relax...I'm just not doing what I had planned on doing.  Here are some cute pictures of the precious two.

When Bennett turned one month he decided he was done with the bottle.  Every time anyone would try to give him a bottle he'd scream.  I spent the next month trying to get him to take a bottle.  He's an aggresive eater and he eats very often (to keep up his manly figure).  My doctor suggested I (or Chris if he's home) give him a bottle every night to help.  That would be nice IF he would take a bottle.  So, I made sure every day at least once I tried giving him a bottle.  One day I'm sitting in the chair trying to give him a bottle and he's getting madder and madder.  Ella wonders over to me and puts her cute little chin on the arm of the chair and as serious as can be looks me in the eye and says, "Mom he just wants the boob!"  I about died laughing.  She's so dang cute sometimes!

In case you're wondering, after weeks of screaming he is taking a bottle again.  Yipee!  It does need to be warmed to the right temperature and he needs to be positioned in the perfect position, but he's taking a bottle.  Now if I could just get Chris to offer to give him one maybe at 2:30 a.m. my life would be blissful.

Two months old

Well, Bennett will be two months old on Saturday.  He had his two month check-up yesterday which meant his first round of shots.  Yuck!  I hate shot day and apparently Bennett does too!  He cried so hard and for what seemed like an eternity.  Ella always cried but she'd stop as soon as I'd pick her up.  This was breaking my heart yesterday and then that little lip of his just made him look even more helpless.  He can stick out that bottom lip like no other!  Dr. Brown said he's definitely healthy and could tell he is a good eater.  He weighed in at 15.9 pounds (95+%) and 24 1/2 inches long (93%).  At least his length is keeping up with his weight.  He is looking more and more like his daddy every day except of course he's chubbier!
