I Heart Faces photo challenge this week is "Best Face Photo from January".  This is my sweet daughter hugging my best friend, her godmother, who is due in two weeks.

Shoot and Edit - Red

This week's theme for Shoot and Edit is red.  Ella wore her new Valentine shirt on Saturday so I had a couple opportunities to capture her.  I'm not sure which one I'm going to edit yet.  All are SOOC.

Scavenger Hunt

This is my second Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  I did better this week at capturing new photos. :)

1. Texture

This is spinach artichoke dip I was making.  I love all the different textures (and colors) in the mixture.

 2. Beverage

I dug this out of my archive.  I took this on vacation but just love it.  My husband is holding a camera of a picture taken earlier in the day.  He was VERY proud of his set up on the beach.

3. Seventies

On Friday is was a beautiful day outside in north Texas.  It was in the low 70's.  I took this shot of my little guy playing ball then edited it with the Pioneer Woman's Seventies action.  Double whammy! 

4. Button

I didn't have anything exciting to photograph for a button so I just pulled out my button box of spares.  It was boring so I applied PW's Vintage action.

 5. Fog

I was a little stumped when I read "Fog".  My mirrors are never foggy after a shower no matter how hot the shower is but I thought I'd take in my camera anyways.  As the water was warming I noticed the shower door get steamy (it's never steamy at the end of my shower,  just wet) so I grabbed my camera and started snapping.  This is a picture of the foggy shower door with a reflection of the counter.  I think it turned out really cool.  Wish I would have thought of it for last week's "reflection".

Shoot and Edit - Good Night Edited

Week Three.  I thought I was being a bit clever with my set up of my rabbit with the cork in the corkscrew with the wine bottle in the background for some bokeh but the black on black was actually rather a bit challenging come time to edit.  Actually, the most challenging was trying to remove the hot spot off the silver because I had to use flash.  There is no light in our house but I'm going to try to avoid it as much as possible!

I did try the cloning tool to get rid of the hot spot but it didn't help.

I'm excited for red next week.  I think I'll use my little people. :)

It finally snowed!

AHHHHH....I just used up all my photo storage space in blogger.  This will be my last post until I get more space.  I didn't even know there was a limit.  I didn't get to upload all the snow pics.  Oh, well.

Ella had been waiting and waiting for snow in Dallas.  Last year we had quite a few snow falls.  The day finally came.  Two weeks ago.  Sorry to those of you that enjoy seeing pictures of the kids.  Here are some from the few days the snow was on the ground.

Scavenger Hunt

This is my first time to participate in Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  You're supposed to take new photos.  I'll be honest, only one photo is new this week.  Hopefully the next time I participate I'll have more new photos. :)

1. Memories

My daughter wore these boots almost everyday last year until they were too small.

 2. Reflection

I'm not sure if this counts as a true reflection but I just love this photo I took while in Exuma, Bahamas this past summer.

 3. Silhouette 

Another favorite of mine is at the beach in San Diego last spring.  My sweet daughter let me take about 100 photos while practicing silhouettes.  

4. Silver

Looking for a memory photo I found this photo I took of a necklace my wonderful husband gave me after we had our son.

 5. Doorway

The only new picture, our front door!  Not very thrilling, just a door.

Shoot and Edit - Good Night

It's week 3 of Shoot and Edit and this week's theme is "Good Night."  There are so many things that say "Good Night to me; like dancing with the kids in their pjs before bed, a fun bath and bedtime stories but I opted for a different route.  My husband travels and when he's home we have fun getting the kids ready for bed but then it's also nice at 8:30 when it's quiet and we can sit down and just relax and some nights even enjoy a glass of wine!

Shoot and Edit - Good Morning Edited

Week Two of Shoot and Edit - Good Morning

I have my pancakes edited.  I worked on my photo last night and really didn't like it so I just redid it.  I still don't love it but it'll do.  I tried to figure out the whole layer mask but I'm pretty sure it wasn't working for me.  I read Rita's tutorial and followed her steps last night but don't think I did it correctly.  I'll try again when I have a little more time.  Here are my photos:

I cropped the photo and did some adjustments.  I love the new one I learned last week from Ashley: High Pass Filter and then I tried the layer mask but ended up deleting it so finished with a color fill of light pink with opacity of 6%.

In case you are wondering what the one I didn't care for looked like, here it is...

I added an action to it, maybe the Golden Vintage from coffeeshopblog, but it looks too dark.
