San Francisco album

Brooke, my best friend, and I went on a fabulous trip to San Francisco this past weekend. We left Thursday morning and got back Sunday night. It was so much fun!! It was my first real girls trip. The kids were safe at home with their daddy who also had a little help from one of our wonderful friends, Ivy, and his sister, Ally. Other than that he was Mr. Mom! Everyone survived, mismatched outfits, baths, meals, even a trip to Super Target. :) Thanks Chris for my wonderful trip!!

Brooke and I took advantage of every minute we were in San Francisco. We saw as much as we possibly could. We were up and about all day. We rode just about every form of public transporation starting with the BART, street car, cable car, taxi, and bus. We of course did a LOT of walking and then rented a car for our last night in Sonoma. I think the only thing we missed was the ferry, maybe next time. San Francisco is definitely on the top of my favorite city lists and I think it would be so neat to live there. There is so much culture there and you can always find something to do. It sure makes Dallas look VERY boring, but we did agree that we still have some good food here. However, there were no overweight people in San Fran, must be all the walking they do. I would love it if I was able to walk everywhere and spend so much time outdoors. Such a different way of living.

I'm so lucky to have such a great best friend. I can't wait to plan our trip for next year. hmmm....where should we go...

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter today and hope you all did too!!  The kids were delighted with their Easter baskets and looked adorable in their new outfits.  We headed to church on the chilly and rainy morning.  For quite a few years we have spent Easter with our friends, the Nikirks, going to church and then to lunch.  We thought it would be fun to invite them and a few other friends to our house this year since we have kids now.  I figured the kids would much rather hunt for eggs and play together than sit still in a restaurant.  I think everyone had a great time, from the wonderful food, mimosas, Easter eggs, lots of candy and sweets, playing, more playing and then cascarones to end the day!!  What is a cascarone you ask?  Apparently, only the lucky ones who are from or lived in San Antonio know that they are eggs filled with confetti.  The kids loved them...great idea Nathan & Jill!!  Thanks everyone for the delicious food and good times!  Love you all!!

10 months old

Where is the time going?  In less than two months our baby is going to be one.  I'm so not ready for that day!  I think when Ella was 10 months old I already had her birthday party planned but I just can't bring myself to it this time.  I'm still in denial!  He hasn't changed much but yet he has over the past month.  He is still our chunky monkey but he is slowing down and as he's becoming mobile he is "thinning" down some. :)  Some examples of his recent changes:

After being rained out a couple times we finally made it to the Arboretum today.  YEA!!!  The Arboretum is absolutely beautiful during Dallas Blooms.  Our friends, the Doffing's and Burriss' met us there.  Ella had a wonderful time playing.  Since Shelby was there I was actually able to get her to pose for some pictures.  This is the first round at the Arboretum.  We'll be back on Sunday with daddy and then I'll probably go back on Monday for the Mommy & Me day.  Fun, fun, fun!

He can crawl!

Bennett started crawling last week!  It's like a baby taking his first steps.  He goes about two strides and then stops.  Maybe he is in awe of his new trick.  Sometimes he sticks one leg out to the side like Ella did and does a peg leg crawl.  After a week of crawling he can go more than two strides.  Watch out mommy & daddy he's on the go!!
