St. Thomas

Chris and I spent 5 days in St. Thomas. It is a beautiful island but we probably won't be going back, at least not anytime soon. If we do make it back there one day we will definitely do things differently. The trip was great and we were able to relax. There was a slight complication leaving DFW. Apparently there was a mechanical problem on the airplane so our flight was delayed and delayed.... We started getting worried that we were going to miss our connection in Miami. Finally Chris goes up to the desk and asks and they switch us to a new flight changing in Puerto Rico but we'd have no bags until the following day. The good thing is our friends, Scott & Laura, were already at the hotel and offered up some clothes to help out. The bad thing is we had to cancel our day sail for Monday. It's a little hard to go out on the boat and snorkel without a swimsuit! The luggage didn't make it to the hotel until almost 5:00. ANNOYING!!!! I was so happy Laura loaned me some shorts and a tank top so I didn't have to wear pants to the beach. After we had our stuff we were ready to enjoy ourselves so we headed out to get a taxi and venture across the island for dinner. Well, Chris & Scott got sick on the drive everytime we rode in a taxi so that put an end to leaving the hotel! We did take a ferry to St. John. That's a gorgeous island. I think a stay there would be awesome minus the mosquitos that attacked us over there. The rest of the time we pretty much hung out at the beach and went into town (by water taxi). It's probably better to rent a car but the roads are so different than here. I think it'd be a little scary to drive over there. We'll be sticking to the 50 states for a while. That's okay with me, plent of great cities I haven't seen yet!

The wave came crashing in and got me and my SLR camera soaked. My camera didn't work the same for the rest of the trip but it works.
