Busted

It was bound to happen sooner or later.  Bennett was playing in the playroom this evening and he turned from the bookshelf headed towards the kids’ table and fell with his face catching the edge of the table leg.  At first I thought he was fine but I saw it happen from the wrong angle.  Once I saw the front of him, his face and I mean eye brows to chin were covered in blood in a matter of about two seconds.  I was not panicking…yet.  Ella busted her lip with a tooth going through it and there was a lot of blood so I remember how much blood can come from the mouth.  I got him to the bathroom and immediately put a wet washcloth on it but it was not slowing down and there were pieces of tissue or something in the blood, so now I start to get a little panicked.  Of course when these things happen Chris is out of town so I call him to see what he says (He was working from home the past two days!).  My gut instinct was right but I needed reassurance from daddy to tell me that I just needed to stop the bleeding.  However, a little later I noticed the top gums are all bruised as well.  I was finally able to stick my finger in his mouth and check for loose teeth but there weren’t.  Thank goodness…he’s not on the dental plan until January!!!  He was definitely in pain all night along with an upset stomach.  All he ate was a few bites of yogurt and he would only let Ella feed it to him.  She was very sweet taking over and he stopped crying.  Poor little guy had a rough night.  I’m sure there’s going to be blood all over his pillow and sheet in the morning.  I’m sure this is just the beginning of accidents for this sweet and curious little baby boy. :)

Poor little guy! I hope he is better tomorrow!!
I always wonder what it is going to be like in 4-5 months when Kristian is walking. I am already a nervous wreck! I may call you :) I am already thinking about how I am going to have to clean out the playroom of tiny toys and things he will choke on. How do you keep Ella's things away from him? Hard to teach sharing one minute and them yell, "NO! Don't give that to him". Poor Kaia, she is so confused!!!
