Sophie's Mom
Do you know who Sophie's mom is? Well, Ella sure does. Sunday night I was busy getting caught up on the shows recorded on the DVR since we were switching to U-Verse on Monday so I didn't watch the Golden Globes. Monday during B's nap I was caught up and decided to watch a little of the Globes before the guy arrived. Ella was watching a movie in my room but came in and ended up watching some of the Globes with me. Best Actress was up and Meryl Streep was nominated for Julie and Julia (loved it) and It's Complicated. She won for J&J. As she's giving her acceptance speech Ella says, "Hey, I know her. That's Sophie's mom." It took me a second but then it dawned on me that yes indeed that was Sophie's mom from Mama Mia! This story is really for my mom because she has watched the movie with Ella probably 100 times. Only Ella would call Meryl Streep "Sophie's Mom". Gotta love her!

Meryl Streep was Sophie in Sophie's Choice years ago. Very sad movie and I couldn't figure out how Ella knew about that movie. Then I realized Meryl was Sophie in it, not Sophie's mom. Good to know it was Mama Mia's Sophie!
