Ice, Ice Baby

Last week was a loooooong week.  The weekend had been so beautiful and then the weathermen/women were right indeed.  That arctic blast did in fact hit the DFW area.  We woke up Tuesday morning to icy grounds.  The winds were blowing at 40 to 50 mph and the temps were around 18 degrees but the wind chill made it feel like 1 degree and often below.  We didn't even go outside.  It was just nasty cold.  We had lots of indoor pajama time!  Ella had her share of hot cocoa, too.  I'm sure the folks up in the Chicago and Boston areas think we are wimps but we're not equipped for this stuff!!  Then Thursday the forecasters were saying 1-2 inches of snow overnight.  Well, we woke up to five inches!  And, it kept snowing and snowing and snowing all day!  It was really pretty.  But, snow on top of ice can be dangerous.  The kids could finally go outside and play.  Yea!!  Saturday the sun came out and it was mostly melted by mid afternoon.  Now they're talking about more on Wednesday.  Oh, spring, where are you?!?!

Here are some pictures of the snow!

Friday morning from our dining room window

Snow angels before I even got outside

Sinking right in

Sadie just loves the snow!

Dumping snow on each other...
