On Saturday, and let me add it was a
steamy Saturday, Ella had her first soccer game. The game was at 1:00. Not only was that right in the middle of the heat of the day but right smack in the midst of when Bennett should be napping. Joy! Ella was pumped and ready to play soccer despite the heat. She sat out the first quarter but played the next three. That is until she ran out of steam about 3 or 4 minutes before the end of the 4th quarter. The girls were so hot and sweaty. Good little sports and weren't even affected by the player on the opposing team that dominated the field and scored so many goals nobody and even kept track. Ella did dribble the ball (I sure hope that's correct terminology, my brother my butt for not knowing!) and have some nice long kicks. She had one going straight for the goal but some girl decided it'd be a good idea to stop it...with her hands. Ummmm....no! O-well! Last night at practice Ella scored a goal. Let's hope that happens Saturday at 9:00. Go Butterflies!! And, props to Coach Mandy for the super cute uniforms. The Butterflies are the cutest team out there.

There she goes....
to the goal...
You mean you can't use your hands in soccer?!?
So proud of our Butterflies!!
Check out how sweaty they are!
Poor Bennett was not happy. He threw quite a tantrum at the beginning. He was determined he was going to be on one of the many fields playing soccer as well. Nothing we offered him was making him happy. After a good 20 minutes I said I would be hiring a babysitter from now on. He finally settled down. Poor kid just wants to play sports!!
