Pumpkin Village at the Arboretum

This past weekend my mom and Jim came up for a visit.  Due to the holiday weekend Ella did not have a soccer game.  On Saturday we headed down to the great Pumpkin Village at the Arboretum.  I was certain I was going to get a frame-able picture of my darlings this year.  Uh, let's just say Bennett had other plans.  He is a busy - boy.  He is on the go, go, go.  He has to look at everything and feel everything, too.  He just doesn't sit still.  Despite my failure at the picture perfect moment of my darlings we enjoyed the Arboretum and the wonderful display of pumpkins, gourds and such.  Maybe I'll take them back another day when it isn't quite so busy.  Maybe one day he'll cooperate, you know when he's like 30.

My precious darlings at the pumpkin patch:

This is the best one of the two of them.  Pretty cheesy!  And, they aren't even looking in the same direction.  I'm all for artsy but this is just cheese to the max!

Bennett thought this well was pretty cool.

I love the variety of gourds they display.  I thought this would be a great picture spot to try again before we left.  Unfortunately nothing turned out of the two of them.  Most of my pictures were blurry. :(

Bennett with my mom and Jim.  Ella was DONE!

He really enjoyed standing on this Fairytale pumpkin.

In fact, he enjoyed it so much he threw a little fit when I made him leave so others could take their family picture.

More gourds near the entrance/exit.

Ella making a wish before she throws he first penny.

It takes a lot of concentration (and a kiss) to make a wish.

He was determined to NOT look anywhere near me...just the pumpkins of the phone.

Giving Grandma VeVe love.

What I would give for those eye lashes! :)
